Star Wars quietly cancelling fan-favourite series, says insider

The television show curse

Despite living during a time where amazing television shows regularly hit the big screen, we also have to deal with many of them getting cancelled after just one season.

It happened earlier this year with the arrival of The Acolyte which aired back in June before swiftly getting cancelled after just one season.

Check out the trailer for season one of Ahsoka below!

Despite the Disney+ show being yet another Star Wars adaptation, that did not save it from the axe and now fans are worried the same thing will happen to Ahsoka.

First airing back in 2023 and with one season under its belt, the Star Wars television show was luckily renewed for a second season.

Telling the story of former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano, we follow her as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

With the first season ending with quite the cliffhanger with Ahsoka and Sabine finding themselves stranded, fans always hoped this meant a second season was all but confirmed.

Luckily it was but a recent report has revealed that Ahsoka season two may be the last.

According to insider Daniel Richtman, Lucasfilm is aiming to wrap up any loose ends by the end of the second season just in case the show isn’t renewed for a second time.

Of course, this does not mean that Ahsoka has been cancelled. It just means that the show writers don’t want to end on another cliffhanger just in case they can never finish the story they want to tell.

As of now, Ahsoka season two is set to begin filming in April 2025 which could see it aim for a summer 2026 release date, at least according to Richtman.

However, with the cast of Ahsoka expected to appear in 2026’s The Mandalorian and Grogu, it remains to be seen how this will affect the timeline.

Not only that but Ahsoka star Ray Stevensen unfortunately passed away back in May 2023 so it will be sad to see his character, Baylan Skoll, written out of the Disney+ show.
