Sigounrney Weaver will be making her Star Wars debut with The Mandalorian And Grogu, and she already adores Grogu.

Star Wars Celebration 2025 attendees got to see a sneak-peak at the upcoming Mandalorian film before a trailer is shown to the general public.

The Mandalorian And Grogu picks up where The Mandalorian Season 3 left off, with our dynamic duo on yet another intergalactic adventure

During the event it was announced Signourney Weaver will be in the film as a member of the New Republic, who’ll seemingly be sending Mando and his little green friend on missions against The Empire.

When asked on the red carpet whether she was excited to join the ever-expanding Star Wars Galaxy, and how excited she was to meet Grogu in person, Sigourney Weaver said: “Well, I was just as excited to meet Din Jarin!” before going on to say “but I had no plans to jump into their galaxy. So I was quite surprised when I got this call from Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni inviting me to join this universe.”

Sigourney continued to say “I was kind of thunderstruck. And then I started to watch The Mandalorian and fell in love with the characters, the world, the stories. It was such a lovable series, with lots of suspense, lots of effects, and when they said they were making a movie of it, I was thrilled that they had a role for me.”

Other characters have also been teased for the new film, including some familiar faces as well as all-new characters supposedly never seen on the big-screen before.

It’ll be interesting to see what place Signounrey Weaver’s character will have in the wider Star Wars galaxy, or whether it’ll be a one-time performance for The Mandalorian And Grogu.

The Mandalorian And Grogu will release in cinemas on 22 May 2025, and will be possibly the wildest Star Wars ride yet.
