Spider-Man fans torn over new live-action Spidey casting

Spider-Man fans torn over new live-action Spidey casting

We love this!

It seems that the legend that is Nicolas Cage can do no wrong (mostly), especially when it comes to this Spider-Man casting.

One of the best Spider-Man movies of all time is 2018’s Into the Spider-Verse, featuring Miles Morales as the fellow friendly neighbourhood hero. I don't want to give too much away but it was packed full of other Spider-Men and Women from different universes, and one was played by Nicolas Cage.

Check out the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse trailer below!

“Bitten by a radioactive spider in the subway, Brooklyn teenager Miles Morales suddenly develops mysterious powers that transform him into the one and only Spider-Man,” reads the synopsis of Into the Spider-Verse.

“When he meets Peter Parker, he soon realises that there are many others who share his special, high-flying talents. Miles must now use his newfound skills to battle the evil Kingpin, a hulking madman who can open portals to other universes and pull different versions of Spider-Man into our world.”

Nicolas Cage plays Noir Spider-Man and reprises his role in the 2023 sequel, Across the Spider-Verse and fans loved his role so much that he’s getting his own live-action series and it’s coming to Amazon’s Prime streaming platform.

“I really hope they use Sin City as an inspiration and lean into the visuals and noir vibe. It could make for a really unique Spider-Man story if done properly,” suggested MuptonBossman.

“Older, grizzled, cynical? Nicolas Cage is perfect for this,” said snicmtl with CiriOh “adding “Best casting decision ever.”

“This is when a non-Disney company having the Spider-Man rights is at its best. No stupid villain spinoff,” replied Swackhammer.

“This is a wild concept. It’s either going to be amazing or terrible, Cage goes all in so there’s no middle ground,” pleasegivemepatience bringing balance to the conversation.

There is currently no release date for Nicolas Cage’s noir Spider-Man series at the time of writing but we’ll let you know once that information arrives.
