The Marvel Cinematic Universe is on the precipice of change.

“We told an ending story [Endgame],” the Russo brothers told Omelete (via ScreenTime).

“Now we're going to tell a beginning story.”

It certainly does sound then as if Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars are finally set to bring The Multiverse Saga to a close.

That’s something that I think will come as a relief to many of us.

The idea of the multiverse was fun to begin with, but it’s starting to feel like something that’s been fully exhausted.

But what may land next?

Well, the general consensus is that we’ll be entering something along the lines of The Mutant Saga.

That’s not an official name as Marvel hasn’t revealed its plans, but it’s widely accepted that the next saga will prominently feature the X-Men.

Before then, Thunderbolts* is due to land.

It won’t be too long then before we see iconic X-Men characters drafted into the MCU, although a couple have already done just that.

Magneto is arguably one of the most popular X-Men, brought to life previously by both Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellen.

However, it’s Jason Isaacs who’s the fan-favourite choice to take on the role this time around - and he’s now responded to the idea.

I’ll admit, it’s a pretty brief response.

In a TikTok posted by Vanity Fair, as reported by Collider, Isaacs replied to the fan casting by saying, “Thanks very much, fans. Many of you, whoever you are.”

It doesn’t exactly indicate whether Isaacs has any interest in playing the role; instead, it simply confirms his gratitude to the fans for his name being in contention.

Could Isaacs be keeping tight-lipped because he’s already in talks?

Hm, it’s unlikely but I’m going to throw the suggestion out there anyway.

Bottom line is that it’s cool to know that he’s aware of the fan cast. It’ll be interesting to see who Marvel eventually goes with.
