The star of the next big Marvel Cinematic Universe film may have just leaked Disney’s plans for the sixth phase of Marvel, including Avengers: Doomsday.

Anthony Mackie is in full press tour mode at the moment, as the release date for Captain America: Brave New World is mere days away.

It’s clear the stress of the press circuit is getting to him, as he just randomly dropped a massive spoiler for Phase 6 of the MCU during an interview alongside his co-star Danny Ramirez.

"I think for me, I'm really excited about the idea of old meeting new… the OG original cast members of the MCU and all the new people coming together to form this massive conglomerate,” Mackie stated in an interview with Gamesradar.

“Is that what’s happening?” replied Ramirez, clearly visibility horrified that Mackie may have just leaked the plot of Avengers: Doomsday.

So, it’s possible that Mackie is just theorising here. He does later state in the interview that he’s not basing his comments on anything substantial, but rather due to Robert Downey Jr’s casting as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.

However, that might have just been a bit of a last-minute save on Mackie’s behalf, but he seemed awful confident about his statement prior to Ramirez’s interjection.

This has led many to theorise that Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers will indeed be making a return in the upcoming film, as rumours surrounding Evans’ casting in the film have been making the rounds for months now (even though he’s, naturally, shot down these rumours).

Of course, given Mackie’s previous comments about Sam Wilson leading the Avengers in the next film, it would make an awful lot of sense to see the new Captain America face off against a Hydra-controlled version of Steve Rogers.

Anyone else remember how much Mackie used to tease Tom Holland for leaking MCU secrets? Not saying that for any specific reason…
