Thanos making his MCU return sooner than we imagined

Hopefully, Thanos won't be snapping his fingers again

As far as Marvel villains go, Thanos is one of the most popular thanks to the MCU. As such, his possible return is going to make waves in the fandom.

Many Marvel fans had suspected Thanos would return, but few imagined it would be so soon after Avengers: Endgame.

Yet, the speculation mill is once again churning out new claims, this time from X user MyTimeToShineHello.

Previous rumours have teased Thanos’ possible return in Secret Wars, as detailed by ComicBook.

Before we get the next couple of Avengers films, we have Thunderbolts* to enjoy

Thanos actor Josh Brolin has purportedly been “in talks” about reprising his role and revealed to Collider that he’d be game to play the part once more.

The actor said, “I’m not kidding, there’s a thing with playing Thanos [...] Thanos has to fit if you’re going to bring him back. I would do anything that the Russos wanted me to do.”

When pressed about whether Marvel had contacted him about the role, Brolin is claimed to have coughed rather than answered.

However you look at his responses, cough included, these were thought mere teases at best.

But now that MyTimeToShineHello has suggested otherwise, the MCU community is dying to know more.

“Doom ripping his heart out is the end credit scene, isn't it?” asked @ChefChrisEllis, to which the OP replied with the eyes emoji.

That same reaction is used again by the OP when a fan queried if Thanos would appear in Avengers: Doomsday.

None of us need reminding that the use of an emoji isn’t confirmation. We’ve all sat through enough so-called leaks to know we need to take these claims with a pinch of salt.

Nevertheless, with the next phase of the MCU shaping up to be particularly explosive, the return of the last big villain makes sense.

Frustratingly, this is all we know about this Thanos rumour thus far.
