MCU fans lose it over Avengers: Doomsday bringing back fan-favourite hero from another universe

It's not all doom and gloom

The next phase in the MCU has fans salivating over the endless possibilities these new films present.

Some believe that Phase Six will introduce much needed change, with a recent teaser having suggested as much.

In addition, it’ll also bring back beloved heroes that hail from another Marvel universe.

According to social media user @AlexFromCC, Dr Hank McCoy will star in Avengers: Doomsday.

Naturally, such a rumour, even without an official backing, has X-Men fans hyped.

The future looks bright for Marvel Studios.

“This means they're gonna follow up on The Marvels post credit scene? Omg please be true,” @luhshmanky replied after reading the post.

On Reddit, user overflowingpothos commented, “Wow, so that post credit scene in The Marvels wasn't just for funsies? Holy s**t.”

Despite many unfairly hating on The Marvels, it seems that it wasn’t a waste of time after all.

Now that another X-Men character has been rumoured to join the MCU – remember, Wolverine has officially joined due to Deadpool & Wolverine – fans are curious if other fan-favourites will return too.

We doubt anyone needs to be reminded, but Marvel’s Kevin Feige has spoken about how Secret Wars will help usher in a “new age of mutants”.

If true, that means that Doomsday could be packed full of familiar, and new, faces.

This is a cause for celebration among fans who have been too scared to dream such a day would come.

“We're getting comic accurate Fox X-Men and it will be glorious,” remarked jorgecavos. “Just praying the elder statesmen can stay healthy for the next few years (and longer) to partake.”

Not all is well in the MCU though.

While everything appears to be running smoothly for the big blockbusters of the next phase, a now cancelled show is being mourned. For fans, “so much potential” has been lost.

The MCU is transforming into something different, and for the most part, that seems to be welcomed by fans.

That being said, there are some losses that inevitably come from such change.

At least it seems like it’ll all be worthwhile when popular heroes return to us.
