It’s a given that Deadpool & Wolverine has been a huge success for Marvel. A massive opening weekend and social media alight with positive remarks seems a good sign.

This has left many, including Kevin Feige (head of Marvel Studios), wondering what’s next for the heroes.

Deadpool & Wolverine is still showing in cinemas with the merc joining the MCU.

Feige has been talking on this exact matter with Collider and said, “After this movie, we will have a meeting with both and we will have a talk that this was fun and now what we should do next.”

It’s a pretty simple and throwaway comment sadly, the boss said nothing concrete, but it does hint that there is a future for both heroes in the MCU.

It’s obvious that both Wolverine and Deadpool have a place in the MCU, though it's hard to say whether that’s in full-fledged roles or as cameos.

When this was reported on Reddit, one user, Sherm199, commented on the most likely future for the duo, “The pipe dream has OBVIOUSLY gotta be a Deadpool cameo/appearance with Tom Holland.”

While everyone is joking that Marvel now has Hugh Jackman “until he’s 90”, it’s likely he’ll only be used in cameos.

With Avengers: Secret Wars coming up, we could see Jackman’s Wolverine team up with Earth’s heroes given that Wolverine was a part of the original comic book lineup for the storyline.

Having him leading into the Mutant Saga, which is rumoured to take over after the Multiverse Saga concludes, just makes sense.

Whether Ryan Reynolds has more Deadpool in his future is harder to say given the R-rated nature of the merc.

That doesn’t mean we won’t see a more playful ‘PG’ version of the antihero appear in the future, but another solo film may not happen again.

As the hype train starts rolling for the future of the MCU we’re likely to hear much more about whether we see the two on screen together again.
