Marvel has officially teased the next Sorcerer Supreme to become the new protector of our dimension.
A character in the world of Marvel is about to get a massive upgrade as the next Sorcerer Supreme, following in the footsteps of Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom.
Doctor Strange is one of the most interesting characters in Marvel, whether it’s in the MCU or traditional comics.
Viewed as an inspirational superhero, Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange is not afraid to cross the line to serve the greater good, one of the reasons his character is so compelling.

We don’t know what’s next for Doctor Strange in the MCU for his third movie, but when it comes to Marvel Comics, the path of the Sorcerer Supreme has taken an interesting turn.
As reported by CBM.com, during the ‘Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing Panel’ at last weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con, we were treated to our first look at the ninth and final issue of One World Under Doom.
In the final episode of the series, Doctor Doom’s reign of terror comes to an end after harnessing the power of the Sorcerer Supreme for his selfish gain. Following the demise of Doctor Doom, there will be a new Sorcerer Supreme.
In a new promotional image shared at San Diego Comic Con created by artist Devmalya Pramanik, loads of Sorcerer Supreme successors are teased, and it does not include Dr. Victor Werner von Doom or Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange.
There are some candidates to take up the vacant role teased in the image, including Storm, Gambit, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Zheng Shang-Chi and more.
“The story is in two parts," writer Ryan North explained during the panel.
“[In the second part], you're kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop, because there's no way he's doing what he's doing without any consequences. So in the second half, you see what's going on behind the scenes.”
“There is some stuff coming up that I'm very excited for. I know issue nine is the conclusion, but issue eight has some big stuff that I’m very excited about,” he added.
We can't wait to see who the next Sorcerer Supreme is and if it will influence MCU movies to come. One World Under Doom #9 will be released physically and digitally from 5 November 2025.
