Marvel fans just realising Jenna Ortega was in the MCU already

To be fair, this was 12 years ago...

Those desperate to have Jenna Ortega star in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie learned something odd this weekend; she technically already has.

Ortega has been a popular fan cast for multiple characters in the MCU, ever since she gained worldwide recognition for her role as Wednesday Addams in the Netflix series Wednesday back in 2022.

A lot of people want her to play Rogue, others want her to play Kitty Pryde, and personally I think she’d be kind of a hilarious pick for Squirrel Girl, but you may be surprised to learn that, actually, she’s already played a character in Disney’s blockbuster franchise.

In an interview (alongside Paul Rudd) with Entertainment Tonight for her upcoming film Death of a Unicorn, Ortega was asked if she’d ever consider joining the MCU.

"I did it once... it was one of the first jobs I ever did,” Ortega revealed.

“They took all my lines out. I'm in Iron Man 3 for a quick second. I take up the frame. I have one leg. I'm the Vice President's daughter... They even took my name away. But I count that, and then I move on.”

Entertainment Tonight even included a handy clip of her scene as reference and, yup, there she is, starring in a scene alongside Miguel Ferrer who played the Vice President of the United States.

Don’t blame yourselves too much for missing it though, as Iron Man 3 came out in 2013. As they probably shot the scene at least a year or two before then, that would have made Ortega about ten or nine years old.

Pretty funny that Rudd attempts to console her by saying they might still be setting her character up for bigger things in the future though. I’m pretty sure that ship has sailed my man, but good effort.
