Set to air in 2027, filming for the brand-new Harry Potter television show is now in full-swing and it seems as though it will be here to stay for quite a long time.
Despite it being just over a decade since the last Harry Potter movie hit cinemas, our Golden Trio is back as Warner Bros. is set to release its Harry Potter television series some time in 2027.
Following the same storyline as the books and movies, the TV series will see a young Harry learn about his wizarding heritage and attend Hogwarts where he will meet and befriend some of our favourite childhood characters.
With our cast already announced and filming underway, we are receiving more and more information about what we can expect from the HBO television show and that includes how long it is expected to air for.

The Warner Bros. Harry Potter movie franchise spanned across ten-years and it seems as though the television is set to follow suit.
According to Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav, Harry Potter will run for a decade.
We can assume that this is the plan if there are no cancellations along the way but with it being such an iconic story, this seems unlikely and so we are definitely in for the long run.
Although it is set to run for 10-years, it is unclear how many seasons will air throughout this time period and also how each season will be split up.

Whether it will be one season dedicated to each book is up for debate but with just seven books to adapt, this seems unlikely if we are looking at a decade-long runtime.
Regardless of what will happen, fans took to special media to share their thoughts on the reboot’s ten-year plan.
“Wow, they are really going so deep on this Harry Potter TV series,” one comment read.
However, another user was left feeling uncertain.

“Not sure if this is gonna work, seems like they'll really have to stretch the story,” they shared.
With a lot to live up, the television reboot will have to pull it out of the bag but with it not set to air until 2027, they will have plenty of time to make sure it lives up to fan’s expectations.
