Harry Potter fans united over 'perfect' Hagrid casting for TV series

Is there a character in the world of Harry Potter more loveable than Hagrid? We don’t think so, and fans don’t either as they rally to get this face to play him next.

We’re, of course, talking about the upcoming Harry Potter reboot show on HBO Max, which doesn’t have an official cast list yet, but we’re getting there.

Here’s the teaser trailer for the reboot below.

Fans have been offering up their top picks on who should play who, and there have also been a few leaks on who the studio is eying up to play characters like Dumbledore, Snape, and Voldemort.

As for Hagrid, nothing has been said yet officially but fans are eying up Nick Frost to be Hogwarts’ kindest resident.

Personally, I see it as Hagrid is very much a comic-relief character as well as being a sort of mentor to Harry and his friends.

“This is one of those very rare fan casts that make me go, ‘Well now that has to happen’,” said one fan in support of the casting.

Another said they “can't imagine anyone else doing it,” and after thinking on it for a bit myself, neither can I. It seems like a solid choice.

Hagrid was previously played by the late Robbie Coltrane, who brought such a warmth and energy to the role that it’ll be hard to top in the upcoming series.

If anyone could do it though, Nick Frost is the one, but this is all speculation and nothing is set in stone as of yet.

The Harry Potter reboot series seems to be taking a bold new approach to the world of Harry Potter, as the show aims to retell the story from different perspectives and offer a more inclusive version of the Wizarding World.

It’s unknown when the show is set to debut, but there’s plenty of time for updates later this year if there are any to share.
