Harry Potter fans already know who should play one of Harry’s mentor’s Remus Lupin, in the new TV series.
The HBO Max reboot of Harry Potter is going to bring a lot of new faces to characters we know quite well, and while an official cast list hasn’t been provided yet fans have been suggesting actors for the roles.
See the only teaser we have for the new Harry Potter reboot below, as production is hardly off the ground yet
While there’s a near endless list of characters to cast across the full series of books, fans have narrowed down who they’d like to see play Lupin, and it comes from an actor themselves.

In a recent interview Matthew Lewis, who played Neville in the films, joked that while he’s too old to play that role again he’d be open to coming back as Remus Lupin.
In a Reddit thread discussing the new series, one fan said he’d “actually be the right age” as Remus Sirius and Snape “are all supposed to be 20 years older than Harry.”
The only problem of course is Lupin only appears in the Harry Potter series in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
It’s believed the HBO Max series will be doing a book per season, so we’d be waiting until at least the third season to be casting some of those characters.

Nevertheless though, it’d be a good idea and it’d be cool to see Lupin get a few scenes with whoever is playing Neville in the upcoming show.
Other discussions were around who Daniel Radcliffe could play, with many hoping he plays James Potter, Harry’s dad, as a nice passing-of-the-torch moment.
Unfortunately there’s still no word on when the HBO reboot of Harry Potter will hit our screens, hopefully it’s worth the wait though as there are a lot of people looking forward to it.
