The Batman Part 2 teaser has fans more hyped than ever

The Batman Part 2 teaser has fans more hyped than ever

"The seeds of where this goes are all in the first movie."

Following the recent finale of The Batman’s follow-up TV series The Penguin, fans are more excited than ever to find out what director Matt Reeves has in store for them in The Batman Part II.

In a recent interview with SFX Magazine, Reeves had some details to share regarding The Batman’s sequel - and it’s extra interesting to compare them against the events of The Penguin’s finale.

Expect spoilers from this point onwards for The Penguin, if you’ve yet to see it!

When talking with SFX Magazine, Reeves revealed that it might just be possible to figure out exactly where The Batman Part II’s story will end up going ahead of time (provided you paid attention to the events of the first film).

The Penguin is easily one of this year's greatest TV shows.

“It’s another mystery that’s going to dig into the epic story about deeper corruption and it goes into places that he couldn’t even anticipate in the first one,” Reeves explained. “The seeds of where this goes are all in the first movie.”

Of course, this interview came out before The Penguin’s final episode, which heavily implied that a very specific group of villains may show up in the next Batman film: The Court of Owls.

In case you missed out on those hints, here’s GAMINGBible’s breakdown of all of the teasers in The Penguin’s finale “A Great or Little Thing”.

Over on the r/DC_Cinematic subreddit, fans of The Batman discussed Reeves's comments and what exactly they believe he could be implying.

“Court of Owls and Hush would fit so well in Reeves' Universe,” replied user KylosApprentice.

"Court is obviously going to be the third act,” agreed Vigilante2011, “with the Joker only being a side character.”

Unfortunately, we’ll be waiting a while to find out whether or not any of this ends up being true however, as The Batman Part II isn’t slated to release until October 2026.
