James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU is gradually coming to fruition.

The duo’s first feature film project, Superman, is due to launch this summer; on 11 July to be exact.

That’ll be followed by Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow in June 2026, which is filming now with House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock in the lead role, and Clayface in September 2026.

The Authority, The Brave and the Bold, and Swamp Thing will round chapter one out, although remain without launch dates or windows for now.

As I said, Supergirl is already in the midst of filming and it seems that Clayface will soon follow suit.

It’s being reported that the film has found its lead star, and the phrase inspired casting comes to mind.

Clayface is supposedly due to be played by Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe.

ICYMI: Take a look at the trailer for Superman below.

Warner Bros. and DC are yet to confirm the casting, with this tidbit instead coming from film insider TheInSneider, so I do have to urge you to take this information with a pinch of salt.

It’s unknown exactly what iteration of the character we’ll see, although Gunn did previously describe Clayface as a “body horror film”.

I really hope there’s some truth in this rumour because Daniel Radcliffe has fantastic range, arguably carving out one of the most interesting careers post-Potter compared to his co-stars.

Already, social media is majorly onboard with the rumoured casting.

“He would be fantastic, love this idea,” wrote Twitter user PatriotLuchador.

“I can actually see him being eager to sign on,” added Som91x.

“Just do it already. Could be perfect,” said VenomVerz.

The elephant in the room is that there is technically already a Clayface in the DCU.

Actor Alan Tudyk is voicing the role in the animated Creature Commandos and it’s possible that he could reprise the role in live-action.

I’m afraid we’re going to have to await an official announcement from Warner Bros. to find out.
