The hard reboot of projects in the DC banner under the guidance of James Gunn has already changed a lot about the way the studio is approaching their movies and television projects. After the very well known issues with the DCEU, the company has taken a drastic approach in its attempts to turn the newly formed DCU into a real franchise titan.
As part of that, Gunn has spent plenty of time confirming what exactly should be considered canon and what shouldn't from the ongoing releases. As first reported by The Direct, Gunn recently appeared on Peacemaker: The Official Podcast to talk about the characters in the show and their role in the wider DCU.
During the show, Emilia Harcourt actress Jennifer Holland asked Gunn if Chukwudi Iwuji's Clemson Murn is considered canon. After confirming he absolutely was, Gunn also hinted that the character might not be Iwuji's last chance to appear in the DCU.
"I think Clemson Murn is canon. Maybe his face might not be canon if we want to cast [Chukwudi Iwuji] as something else in the DCU. But also, Chuk could end up being some other character maybe that isn't so humanoid."

Who exactly that character might be wasn't expanded on further, but speculation quickly turned to DC figures with less than human appearances who could serve as a perfect fit to get around Iwuji's appearances in Peacemaker.
The actor has previously expressed interest in playing Etrigan the Demon on screen, a bizarrely morally good character who possesses a knight in King Arthur's court and makes him immortal, which would allow the character to appear in the modern day.
Whatever direction Gunn does take, it's clear that his intention is to keep Chukwudi Iwuji close until they can find the role that suits him well and doesn't reflect negatively on his existing work in the DCU.
