Batman fans rejoice as new movie teaser finally remembers Robin exists

James Gunn has teased a new film project for Robin, the Boy Wonder, the always brilliant side-kick and superhero in his own right.

It’s about time DC remembered he exists, but not only that, that several people have worn the mask and had great storylines.

The Joker sequel is out in cinemas this week following on from the hugely successful original film

According to Gunn, who put out the news via a tweet, the new film has been green-lit for cinemas.

Of course, fans are thrilled. However, that’s not just because Robin is getting his own film but because it sounds epic.

DYNAMIC DUO will star not one Robin, but two of them. Both Dick Grayson and Jason Todd will appear in the film created using “animation, puppetry, and CGI.”

The film’s script has been written by Matt Aldrich and is being produced in partnership with Matt Reeves.

Fans couldn’t hold in their excitement with many expressing shock and joy in the replies to Gunn’s tweet.

One fan said, “Animation, puppetry, & CGI ??? This has more than piqued my interest.”

Another comment was overflowing with praise saying, “Yea I trust y’all with full confidence to cook here. You and Matt completely get this universe and the characters and most importantly you’re FANS too and that shows in all the work you do. Can’t wait to see this.”

This has brought up one question, which Gunn hasn’t addressed; will this be a DCU project or an Elseworlds property?

Plenty of fans are asking and while Gunn is spearheading the new push for DC projects, the water is still a little muddy with so many variations in the Batman IP.

So many fans are asking, “Hey James, is this an Elseworlds story or an origin to the robins in the DCU?”

Hopefully, we’ll have more news soon as there is no scheduled date to start production, let alone a release date.
