One of the latest Batman storylines has presumably killed off one of the dark knight’s most important villains.

It’s not a secret that DC, and Marvel to some extent, love throwing a twist at its readers, after all literally anything can happen if a writer deems it to be.

Have you watched The Penguin yet? See the trailer for the new TV series below

In the latest Batman comic series, Batman: The Last Halloween, we’ve seen the world’s greatest detective continue his war on crime in the aftermath of The Long Halloween storyline.

However in the latest issue it wasn’t our hero taking shots it was actually one of his best villains, Two-Face.

For a bit of context The Long Halloween serves as an origin story for Two-Face, where Harvey Dent works with Batman to catch the Holiday Killer, who turns out to be multiple people including Harvey’s wife Gilda.

While hiding out in his lair Two-Face is attacked by masked gunmen who know Gilda is a murderer, and aim to settle some sort of unknown score.

In the conflict Two-Face is shot in the torso and head, specifically the side of his head that belongs to Harvey Dent rather than his more twisted personality.

The comic ends without telling the reader if Harvey survived the encounter, and while he probably will since he’s one of Batman’s greatest foes it’d be a real twist if he genuinely bit the dust here and now.

Many readers are speculating that he’ll survive, but because of where the bullet hit him the Harvey Dent personality may be gone for good, handing full control over to Two-Face.

Again, this is a DC comic so literally anything could happen, so I guess the only thing fans can do is stay-tuned for more, same bat-time, same bat-channel.
