Tomb Raider is on the cusp of its first new game in years, it’s about time, and the fans couldn’t be happier to see Lara Croft come back.
The Tomb Raider series is a weird one, as while it’s never really been a dead franchise the past few years have yielded no new adventures for Lara Croft aside from some TV projects.
A new Tomb Raider TV series is currently in development and shared its official cast and director announcement yesterday.
In terms of video games there was the reboot trilogy which ended back in 2018, and since then we’ve only had remasters of the original PlayStation games, with more being teased.

A new game is indeed in development though, and the fans are predicting when its big reveal will take place.
Reddit user yessheisabicth shared a theory that we’ll get our first-look at the game this December, during The Game Awards.
As we all know The Game Awards is a time to celebrate the best games to have been released over the past year but it also packs a few surprises into its live show, including major game announcements.
Adding further credibility to the theory is the Netflix series’ second season reportedly premiering on 11 December, the same day as The Game Awards.

“Actually, that's not really that far-fetched of a theory” said one of the commenters, “Especially with Season 1 having been nominated last year as well. They might show a 'streaming now' short trailer for the show and then a reveal trailer for TR12 for maximum cross-promotion.”
Another added “I fully support this theory. The days are too coincidental.”
December is only a few months away so we don’t have long to wait, let’s hope we get more than a logo and five seconds of Lara Croft staring at a camera.
