Although news about Lara Croft’s next big adventure has been somewhat light lately, a new teaser could be everything we hoped for.
The last major Tomb Raider game we got was back in 2018 with Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and it seems as though we’re not getting an announcement for a new one any time soon.
It’s not all doom and gloom, however, as a second season of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft has been confirmed, which should allegedly be released later this year.
And fans now reckon that Lara’s return to video games has been confirmed, following a few social media teases made by the official Tomb Raider account on X (formerly Twitter).

Over the last few weeks, the official Tomb Raider account on X has made posts referencing the Legend Trilogy, the three games that consist of Tomb Raider: Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld.
Although fans were disappointed that nothing was announced at Gamescom, it seems like a new announcement for a remaster of the Legend trilogy could be imminent.
The account posted again earlier this week, referencing the increase in polygon count between Tomb Raider: Legend and Tomb Raider: Underworld.
“From 7,000 polygons in Legend to over 32,000 in Underworld, Lara Croft’s drastic change earned her a Guinness World Record in 2010 for 'Most Detailed Video Game Character.'” the account posted on X.

This has prompted new rumours that a remaster of the Legend trilogy is in the works, following the previous two remastered collections that were based on the first six games in the series.

If true, this would mean that nearly the entire series would be available on modern hardware for new players to enjoy.
Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics laid off “a number of talented colleagues” this week, claiming the decision was based on “evolving business conditions.”
While it’s unclear how many have been affected by this, It stated that the future of Tomb Raider “remains unaffected by this decision”.
