You can just about guarantee that there’s a mod out there for anything you can think of, for pretty much any game. After all, there’s no one better at knowing what fans want from their games than the fans themselves - whether that’s a shiny new coat of visual enhancements for a title years after its release, or the all-important ability to pet the dogs in it, modders can give players the ability to do things that the devs never saw the demand for.

Amongst all the more ‘useful’ mods out there to download, there’s just as many (if not more) that exist solely to make your gaming experience complete and utter chaos, generally by throwing in a host of characters who definitely don’t belong in the game in question. One such mod for God of War has been blowing up online in the last week, after YouTuber ToastedShoes showed it off in a video. And for good reason - it’s genuinely incredible. Unhinged, but incredible.

Check out the mod in question right here - Homer Simpson as Kratos is everything we needed and more.

As you can see, the mod replaces God of War characters with familiar faces from The Simpsons, and it fits way better than it has any right to. As well as Homer stepping into Kratos’ boots, we’ve also got Bart there as Atreus, and Ned Flanders as 'the stranger'.

The whole experience is made a million times better by the fact that the YouTuber got a voice actor to dub the whole thing in the characters’ voices - the impressions are on point, and honestly make me want to see a full modded playthrough of the game. Come on, try to tell me you wouldn’t watch that. You can’t.

As for the mod itself, it was created by Omega Fantasy, who has a whole host of God of War mods available for their Patreons - check out their page here.

This isn’t the first time lately that we’ve seen Homer modded into games worlds apart from the Simpsons universe - a couple of months ago now, he was modded into Elden Ring as the playable character, along with a load of other assorted characters as the various enemies, from Pepe the Frog to Shrek as the Tree Sentinel. It certainly keeps things interesting, anyway.
