The Witcher season 3 trailer bombarded with comments praising 'irreplaceable' Henry Cavill

Yesterday, the first trailer for The Witcher’s upcoming third season finally arrived and fans are full of praise for the ‘irreplaceable’ Henry Cavill.

As I’m sure you’re well aware, season three of Netflix’s The Witcher will serve as Cavill’s last before he hands the reins over to Liam Hemsworth. The actor didn’t explain the reason behind his departure but it’s assumed that he didn’t agree with the direction the writers were taking the show in. Fans even went as far as setting up a petition asking Netflix to fire the writers and rehire Cavill. Needless to say, Cavill’s fellow cast members expressed their sadness at the news, and fans aren’t yet won over by the idea of Hemsworth as Geralt. They are excited to see Cavill back in action one last time though.

A quick trip to the comments section on Netflix’s YouTube will show you just how fond of Cavill fans are. One user wrote, “Glad we have an actor like Henry who respects source material and is a nerd himself,” while another added, “Respect your actors, respect the source material, respect your audience. Thank you Henry, you spoke for us all.” Someone said, “This show is a perfect lesson in the importance of respecting source material and the passion fans have for it.”

“I’m so glad we get this final season with Henry. The moment each of us finish it, we will abandon the series and Netflix will wonder where it all went wrong,” said another user. “We love you Henry. You are more valuable than any person in your industry knows. Thank you for being a true fan and understanding everything. We have your back,” someone added.

Season three will be split into two parts with Volume One landing on 29 June, followed by Volume Two on 27 July.
