Fans of The Witcher series who are just desperate for more of the fantasy world need look no further as this free download will satisfy those cravings.

Kicking off in 2007 with The Witcher before being followed by The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings in 2011 and the much loved The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 2015, the action RPG series developed by CD Projekt Red is up there with the best.

The games, which are based on the six fantasy novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, have captured hearts over the past decade and have gone on to inspire a Netflix series and even spin-off games.

As well as Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, which is of course inspired by the in-game card game, there is also Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales.

First released in 2018, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is an RPG spin-off of The Witcher franchise and acts as a standalone single-player component to Gwent: The Witcher Card Game.

“Thronebreaker is a single player role-playing game set in the world of The Witcher that combines narrative-driven exploration with unique puzzles and card battle mechanics,” the official synopsis reads.

It follows the story of Meve, a war veteran and queen of two Northern Realms - Lyria and Rivia.

When faced with the threat of a Nilfgaardian invasion, Meve must again embark on a journey of destruction and revenge as war breaks out across the kingdoms.

If Thronebreaker has somehow slipped under your radar, then you are in luck as it is currently free to download courtesy of Prime Gaming.

That means you have until 30 October to grab this freebie if you are a Prime subscriber.

Despite The Witcher 4 now being in development, it may still be a few years until we see the next entry in the much-loved series.

That means that now is the perfect time to get stuck into Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales as a way to experience the fantasy world whilst you wait.
