The Witcher: Blood Stone Brings Back Geralt For New 2026 Adventure

Our boy is back

It may feel as if we’re in the midst of a drought, but I’d say fans of The Witcher are in a pretty good place right now.

The long-awaited The Witcher 4 is deep in development and everything showcased so far by CD Projekt RED has been nothing short of breathtaking.

And then, there’s the fact that after two long years, Netflix’s The Witcher is soon set to return with season four debuting on 30 October.

Certainly, the show isn’t what it once was and it’ll be odd having Liam Hemsworth at the helm, but it’s something to tide us over.

That’s far from all as Geralt of Rivia is set to venture out on yet another adventure in 2026.

The Witcher: Blood Stone is a brand new comic collaboration between CD Projekt RED and Dark Horse.

The story concerns ancient dwarven mines which have recently attracted the attention of treasure hunters - hunters who have supposedly encountered a vicious horned beast within.

Strangely, however, there is no evidence of an attack within the mines.

It’s then up to good ol’ Geralt to investigate the treacherous area where he’ll discover that “what remains is best left untouched”.

Well, I know my curiosity has already been piqued.

The Blood Stone miniseries will run for four issues, all of which have been written by Daniel Freedman with letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, colours by Roman Titov, and art by Pius Bak who also contributed the main cover art.

Alternative covers are available with art from Gigi Cavenago, Axel Sauerwald, and Patrycja Podkościelny.

Issue #1 is set to land on 28 January 2026; release dates for subsequent issues are not yet available.

"I am thrilled to leave my mark on the legendary long-running fantasy, The Witcher," writer Freedman said in an exclusive statement to Polygon.

“Geralt and I share a lot of the same sensibilities and getting to weave a blood-soaked tale about the true monster of man is always an opportunity I relish.”

Marcin Zwierzchowski, editor, writer, and franchise creative at CD PROJEKT RED added, "Daniel Freedman has written one of the best dark fantasy comic books ever, Birdking, so inviting him to tell his own story in the world of The Witcher felt like a perfect match.”

He continued, “Together with Pius Bak and Roman Titov they formed a dream team that crafted a wonderful story about greed and wounds that do not heal."

January can’t come soon enough.
