With The Witcher 4 now confirmed, we know that in just a few years we will be taking on the role of Ciri as she fights monsters and humans alike in CD Projekt RED’s next instalment.

However, what we don’t yet know is how much of a role Geralt of Rivia will have to play, especially as he has led The Witcher series up until now.

Played by Doug Cockle in the CD Projekt RED video game series and portrayed by Henry Cavill and Liam Hemsworth in the television adaptation with the same name, we would expect any of these actors to have some information on the future of Geralt.

However, we now officially have confirmation from another version of Geralt, albeit one that is unfortunately often forgotten about when we think about the White Wolf.

It is none other than Maciej Kwiatkowski, who since the beginning of the The Witcher franchise, has been the motion-caption artist and stunt performer/director for Geralt.

Our very own Dan Lipscombe was lucky enough to meet Kwaitkowski recently to learn more about his experience with The Witcher series as well as what the future is looking like for him and his team of stunt performers.

“Finally, professionally, I would spend my time creating ‘Witcher-style’ [choreography], and the further we went into the process [with CD Projekt RED], it would become bigger, and then with The Witcher 3, we saw huge success,” Maciej recalled.

After spending time with Kwiatkowski on-set, our colleague was quick to ask the question we had all been wondering: will Geralt return in The Witcher 4?

“So, is he working on The Witcher 4? “Yes, I guess I can admit that,” he said hesitantly, a wry smile cracking on his face, “I cannot say more,” he continued,” our recent report reads.

“Though he did tell me that he can’t wait for us to see more: “This is the style I’ve been evolving for over 20 to 25 years, and with each game and project, I have the opportunity to do more and have a more cinematic approach.””

If Kwiatkowski is returning, we can assume that means that Geralt will be present in the next instalment and will definitely be swinging his swords in some capacity.

Although Ciri will definitely be our main character, it would make sense for her to still team-up with her adoptive father from time to time and I, for one, can’t wait to see it.
