The Sims is one of the most successful video game franchises of all time with the life simulation game spanning across multiple titles, spin-offs, expansions, DLCs and even mobile games.
However, it is the latter which is the subject of today’s news after EA confirmed that The Sims Mobile is officially coming to an end.
Since the franchise began way back in 2000, The Sims has always been regarded as a PC title.
However, with the arrival of The Sims Mobile, players were able to play on-the-go with the EA title hardly requiring top-of-the-range graphics or hardcore gameplay.

That is why The Sims Mobile, which was first released in 2018, catered to many players around the world but it seems as though that run is now coming to an end.
According to EA, support for The Sims Mobile has stopped following seven years of regular content and quality-of-life updates.
Although those who already own the game will be able to keep playing for a little while longer, The Sims Mobile will be delisted from the Apple and Google Play stores as of today, 21 October.
As for other fans, the servers will be officially shut off on 20 January 2026.

However, as a way to thank fans for all of their support, EA will be releasing a series of exciting features for those who continue to play until the new year.
Although players will no longer be able to access in-game purchases with real money, this new update will allow you to spend "unlimited energy to help them make the most of this time. This should make it easier to complete projects and enjoy the last few months of play".
As for the next few months, EA has also revealed what players can expect as The Sims Mobile goes out with a bang.
Not only will fans have access to unlimited energy but EA also plans to unlock all of the game’s Build Mode and Create a Sim content on 6 January.

"We want to give everyone the opportunity to build their dream home, design their perfect Sims, and experience everything TSM has to offer before the servers close,” the statement reads.
It is definitely one lust hurrah for The Sims Mobile players as, as of 20 January, the servers will be shut down, taking everybody’s saved data with it.
With over 40 million downloads, TSM was far from unsuccessful and despite a lack of regular updates over recent times, it is still clear that many of us did not see this delisting coming.
The Sims Mobile will disappear from mobile storefronts as of today but if you have downloaded the game before, you will be able to redownload it on your device up until January so if you want one last go at it, make sure to take advantage of EA’s offerings soon.
