It’s finally here, the day we’ve all been dreading. HBO’s The Last of Us will draw to a close in just a few days time. This Sunday’s season finale, ‘Look for the Light,’ will wrap up the first season and man, it’s been a good ride, hasn’t it? The good news is that we know a second season is on the way, so it’s only the end for now.

For those of us who have played The Last of Us, we’ve got a pretty good idea about what’s coming. Ellie actor Bella Ramsey has teased that the finale could prove to be ‘divisive.’ I dread to think what that major Part II scene will eventually be then if this is divisive. The finale has a runtime of just 45 minutes which has left some fans feeling concerned that the final leg of Joel and Ellie’s journey may feel a little rushed. We’ll find out soon enough. We do have a fun added bonus on the way though as HBO have announced that an extra episode will air directly after the finale.

Check out the promo for the season finale ‘Look for the Light’ below.

It’s been revealed that HBO will air a bonus episode titled Making of The Last of Us directly after the finale - and it’s exactly what it sounds like. Teased by the official The Last of Us Twitter account, the episode will take viewers “behind the scenes with the cast and crew of The Last of Us to see how they brought the show to life in a special behind the scenes featurette.”

In the short preview trailer, we see a glimpse of how the premiere’s plane crash special effects were created, a look into how the clickers were brought to life practically, the filming process of episode five’s horde, plus interviews with the cast and creatives. Sign me up. We’ll even get to see how Tess’ kiss of death was filmed, and see the creepy clicker child in action jumping on Kathleen.

All in all, it sounds like a juicy watch - and I’ll definitely be tuning in. It’ll be a nice distraction from the intense emotions I’m sure we’ll all be feeling when the end credits finally roll on episode nine.
