A planet in Starfield has a serene area that fans have likened to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Riverwood area. Players have shared their discovery of this area with some initially believing it was a bug rather than a feature.

With Bethesda’s latest RPG Starfield featuring over 1,000 planets and only releasing earlier this month, players are still stumbling across brand-new features every day. With some recently finding NSFW aliens, the game’s most recent discovery is a bit more wholesome. Fans of Bethesda’s previous title The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be interested to hear that one well-known area may have just been featured in Starfield.

Found on the planet Sumati in the Narion system, players can come across a beautiful river framed by trees and rocks. What may seem like a typical forest scene hasn’t fooled some players with many making the comparison to Skyrim’s starting area, Riverwood. Although this wouldn’t be too far-fetched considering these are both Bethesda games, it is a bit usual considering Starfield features very few rivers as opposed to lakes and oceans. A mystery that developers are yet to comment on.

Attention was first brought to the area courtesy of Reddit user Bearpaw 5000 who posted a photo of their Starfield character stood by the river. They initially believed the area to be bugged, saying “my game accidentally generated a river”. However, with many other players stepping forward to say their game also features the same area, we can safely assume this is a feature rather than a bug. This post was also the beginning of the Skyrim comparisons after one user commented “Good, you’re finally awake” which is a nod to the game’s opening scenes.

It’s another interesting day in the world of Starfield with players being more confused that rivers exist than they were when confronted with aliens resembling vaginas. Either way, with hundreds of planets still left to explore, we can only imagine what we will see next.
