Stardew Valley Goes Hogwarts Legacy In New 'Expansion' By Fans For Fans

Are we calling this Stardew Legacy or Hogwarts Valley?

If Stardew Valley isn’t quite whimsical or magical enough for you as it is, then I have some great news.

Have you ever been half way through a new Stardew Valley playthrough and thought to yourself “hey, this is cool, but I wish I could shoot a fireball at that dude”?

In that case, the Hogwarts Legacy-esque addition of your dreams is finally here– or rather, it was here a long time ago. And then it disappeared. But now it’s back. Sort of.

Wizardry is a new, aptly named mod for Stardew Valley over on Nexus Mods from author MoonSlime, and this one is very much setting out to do what it says on the tin.

However, it’s not quite correct to refer to this as a “new” mod, because as MoonSlime states themselves, this is actually a “reimagined port” of the mod Magic at Stardew Valley, from author spacechase0.

As the comments on the mod page for Wizardry point out, Magic at Stardew Valley hasn’t received an update since March 2018, and was deemed “broken” by the mod community following its 1.5 update.

As a result, it seems that MoonSlime has decided to finish what spacechase0 originally set out to do, by adding a bunch of new features and fixing the stuff that was broken along the way.

So, firstly, what did Magic at Stardew Valley add in the first place? Essentially, that mod added a new spellbook to the game, complete with several different trees (such as Nature, Eldritch and Elemental) and dozens of fancy spells (both offensive and useful).

Alongside some fixes to the original mod, Wizardry implements the spellbook into the game in a lore-accurate way.

After you've had your initial meeting with the Wizard, he'll then begin to teach you all of the 30 available spells in the mod. Plus, MoonSlime has integrated the mod into the game alongside a new levelling tree, titled, you guessed it, Wizardry.

The spells range in application, as you’ve got some standard offensive stuff like Shockwave and Fireball (pretty self explanatory). But you've also got a bunch of utility spells, like Clear Debris and Haste (which, again, very much do what their names imply).

MoonSlime’s mod is a little fresh at the moment, so it seems that they’re mostly just focused on making sure its bug-free for the time being. However, I’d highly suggest that you keep an eye on it if you like what you see, because they’re already hard at work on more updates for the mod.
