Stardew Valley fans who are missing more action in their games might get a kick out of this Steam game.

Stardew Valley isn’t going anywhere anytime soon so you can safely put it down and pick it back up when the next content update drops. That said it feels almost inevitable that you’d pick it back up anyway, as once the game has its hooks in you it’s very hard to free yourself.

World Of Anterra might offer a good distraction though when it eventually comes out next year, as it’s got a similar vibe and aesthetic to Stardew Valley but with gameplay more akin to a game like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

I’ll hand things over to its Steam description to explain more: “World of Anterra is an epic non-linear, open-world role playing adventure. The game features a handcrafted open world, deep progression systems, fast paced combat, and rich lore, all wrapped in a satisfying and tactile interface. It’s the type of game only an independent studio could make!”

So from the sound of things Stardew Valley fans wouldn’t feel too out of place. After all there is combat in the cosy farming simulator although it’s not a huge part of the game, only a secondary activity that you’d do when scavenging for supplies.

World Of Anterra feels more in-depth though, making it a good game to try if you’re a fan of open-world RPGs, or if you’re simply counting down the days until The Elder Scrolls VI comes out.

While the wait for The Elder Scrolls VI is bad enough you’ll unfortunately have to wait for this game too, as World Of Anterra is scheduled for launch sometime in 2026 though a release window hasn’t been shared just yet.

Hopefully it’s with us in the first half of 2026 though rather than the second half, and I’m sure there’ll be a demo or playtest available prior to the game’s launch.

Speaking of demos if you’re looking for something new to play you’re pretty spoiled for choice if you’re a Steam user.

While there are plenty of AAA games out at the moment they do cost quite a bit nowadays so do check out our list of some ace freebies to try before you buy.
