Star Wars fans are losing their minds with an unexpected return of the legendary General Grievous.

General Grievous made his first appearance in the 2003 animated TV series, Star Wars: Clone Wars, but he became a lot more well-known in the live-action movie of 2005, Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.

Since Revenge of the Sith, General Grievous’ appearances have been few and far between in the Star Wars universe, however, he’s making somewhat of a comeback in Destiny 2, the game developed by the original Halo studio, Bungie.

“Power is the only code you follow. Don the armour of legends with Star Wars–inspired Dark Side armour ornament sets for Hunter, Titan, and Warlock,” reads the tweet from the Destiny 2 Twitter account. Included in the Destiny 2: Year of Prophecy Ultimate Edition.”

Destiny 2: Year of Prophecy is an upcoming DLC pack which includes the new expansions ‘The Edge of Fate’ and ‘Renegade’, as well as a whole host of other digital goodies.

However, if you pick up the Ultimate Edition, you gain even more goodies, including the Star Wars-inspired skins for Darth Vader, Kylo Ren and the aforementioned General Grievous, and more.

It’s worth keeping in mind that the Star Wars skins aren't entirely lore accurate, especially for General Grievous, but I assume compromises had to happen to fit them into the world of Destiny 2.

“HOLY MOLYYYYYY,” yelled KarimCheese.

“Oh damn,” said TheAgentShadow.

“LETS GOOOOOOOOO,” SpeederLight1 replied.

I used to be a very dedicated Destiny player back in the day, but now looking as an outsider, it doesn't appear to be as popular as it once was. Will skins such as these save the franchise? I doubt it. But it’s cool content nonetheless for those who might enjoy it.

‘The Edge of Fate’ will be released on 15 July and ‘Renegade’ on 2 December 2025. Destiny 2 is a free-to-play title out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
