Star Wars fans are mourning what could have been, with all of them in agreement that this Obi-Wan and Anakin prequel was peak storytelling.
A few years ago, Star Wars comics began picking up steam, with new creators able to jump in and tell fresh stories based on iconic characters.
It was a great way to expand the Star Wars universe without the expensive overheads of using film, and Charles Soule wrote a brilliant miniseries that followed Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker during the era before the Clone Wars.
Illustrated by Marco Checchetto, the five-issue series followed the Jedi after the events of The Phantom Menace, and saw how the trust began to form between Anakin and Palpatine.

Many praised the series for getting to the root of each character, and fans are united on the quality of the plot and action that took place.
Charles Soule took to social media several years ago to say there was more story to tell, and when this was reported on Reddit, fans heaped praise on the original comic book run.
“I loved the Obi-Wan & Anakin run even before all the Soule praise, so this is super exciting for me to see! I would LOVE a sequel,” commented The_Back_Burner.
Another Redditor replied, “I always got the impression this could have kept going. The years between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones could use more stories.”

It’s an area of the prequel canon which has potential for more stories, and comic books or novels would be the best way to tell them.
“Would like to see that era fleshed out a bit more, and I absolutely loved the Anakin and Palpatine scenes,” said Pickles256.
We always want more of our favourite characters, and if you’re hungry for more adventures from the prequel days, this is just the ticket, according to readers.
