Star Wars' Darth Vader returns in new 20th anniversary release

We love to see it

Darth Vader is one of the most iconic villains in cinematic history, and he’s returning to our screens this year!

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith is probably my favourite Star Wars film, maybe tied with Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back but the point is I think it’s really, really good.

The opening space battle, General Grievous, Anakin against Obi-Wan, it’s just pure cinema

That’s why I’m very excited to see the film return to cinemas next month to celebrate its 20th anniversary, and there are some special Darth Vader-themed promotional items on offer to mark the occasion.

Popcorn buckets. Every film needs one now apparently and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith is getting one adorned with Darth Vader’s face/mask on it along with some 20th anniversary text.

That’s not all though, you’ll also be getting a Darth Vader shaped cup to drink out of, which is both adorable and cool at the same time, a nice collector’s item too.

I’m sure availability of these will be fairly limited, possibly even specific to certain regions so check out your local cinemas to see if they have them, and if they’re actually showing the film again.

Honestly seeing Anakin’s fall to the dark side in the cinema again is going to be something special.

Even when you know what’s going to happen and how it’ll all go down, seeing Palpatine turn him into a disciple and seeing Order 66 send a shockwave across the galaxy still hits really hard.

There’ll be some teary-eyed Star Wars fans in the crowd for sure when Anakin and Obi-Wan have their major battle on Mustafar, perhaps it’ll even hit harder knowing they clash again in the Obi-Wan TV series.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith is getting its cinematic re-release next month, starting 25 April for participating cinemas.
