Skyrim player follows their child across entire map, chaos ensues

Yeah, I don't think Bethesda planned for this

One Skyrim player decided to follow their adopted daughter all the way back home after a long trip, only to discover that she had decided to choose the most ridiculous possible route home.

Following NPCs in Bethesda games is, weirdly, kind of fun, but for all the wrong reasons.

NPCs in games like Fallout 4 and Skyrim are supposed to just teleport to their desired location once you stop paying attention to them.

However, if you instead choose to keep your eyes laser-focused on them during their trip, they opt to do some rather odd, clearly unintentional things.

As user 1981VWSciroccoS explained over on the r/skyrim subreddit, their adopted child travelled all the way to Riften to attend their wedding at the Temple of Mara.

The thing is their kid lived in Solitude. That’s basically the other end of the map. So, what random stuff did they get up to during their hour-long walk home?

Well, first off, they explain that she decided to go "straight through Fort Greenwall", but that she didn't aggro the bandits inside during her leisurely stroll. Then she decided to wade through a river for a bit during her walk past Anga's Mill.

The Elder Scrolls VI still hasn't been re-revealed following that 2018 announcement.

Finally, she reached the High Gate Ruins, walked into the middle of the swamp and then just sort of… stopped. Forever. Yeah, sounds like the game wasn’t expecting you to keep an eye on her for this long.

In the comments, other users shared their stories of NPC stalking.

“Try following 'Aventus Aretino' as he goes from the house to the orphanage,” commented user couriersixish.

“Holy Mackarel, he is trying for his training at a very young age.”

“Once after recruiting Ulfric and Galmar to the peace talks, I followed them to High Hrorhgar,” replied user Apprehensive_Rip9967.

“They never made it. They just get stuck on the road by Whiterun after killing a bunch of guards.”

Damn, you guys really are bored waiting for The Elder Scrolls VI, huh?
