If there was one dedicated fanbase, it is the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim fanbase as, despite the game being well over a decade old, its creators are still continuing to release massive expansions for players.

First released back in 2011, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is considered a modern-day classic with the Bethesda RPG being as popular today as it was over a decade ago.

Check out the announcement trailer for Skyrim: Lordbound below!

However, with The Elder Scrolls 6 somehow becoming something of a myth since it was announced six years ago, fans are making do with the latest instalment in The Elder Scrolls saga.

That is why one group of creators have been working on a DLC-sized expansion for Skyrim which is finally set to be released this year.

Releasing in March, Lordbound is a fan-made mod for Skyrim where players will get to visit the valley of Druadarch to embark on a special quest to bring peace to a war-torn region.

“The drums of war are beating inside the Druadach Valley,” the official synopsis reads.

After two hundred years of isolation the valley has restored its severed connections to the provinces of Skyrim and High Rock, exposing its withered remains to the rest of Tamriel.

Chief Gorek of Garshakur refuses to surrender his mountain fortress to the Imperial Legion, denying them control of the highly-valued trade route between the cities of Jehanna and Solitude.

As the war wages on, the people of Druadach are forced to seek protection within the walls of Highreach, home of the young Lord Haelan - but even the last bastion of Druadach is threatening to fall at the hands of a mysterious knight of unknown origin, leaving only death in its wake.

Whatever the choices are in the end, the fate of the valley rests in the hands of champions; both new and old.”

As well as a new region, Lordbound adds three faction quest lines, non-linear quests, dungeons, new weapons/armour and much more.

Its announcement trailer got fans hyped back in July 2024 and now it is almost time for Skyrim lovers to get their hands on some brand-new epic content set in the fictional land.

With over 60+ hours of content, 40 quests, 50 new dungeons and the “biggest main quest you have ever played in Skyrim”, Lordbound has been a labour of love for its creators and fans can’t wait to get stuck in.

“Hell yeah. You had me at "Reachmen"”, Reddit user Darkwater117 shared on r/skyrimmods.

Another comment read: “Holy sh*t, 2025 is gonna be an absolute banger.”
