Skyrim fans unsure over game's final 'game-changing' update

Don't cross your fingers

It’s become a bit of a meme how often The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been re-released by Bethesda, often with some sort of “new” feature like included DLC, mod support, or a visual overhaul.

Surely Bethesda is running out of options when it comes to further re-releases though right? At least that’s what fans think after looking back on all the versions released thus far.

Personally I think it’ll all depend on how soon we get The Elder Scrolls VI, you could probably squeeze in another Skyrim remaster in that time

In a Reddit thread by therealicekid the question was poised “Will Skyrim Ever Get Another Update?”

Skyrim’s last released version was the Anniversary Edition, which included Creation Club content blended in allowing console users on Xbox or PlayStation to access a long list of approved mods.

“Do y’all think Skyrim will get another update beyond Creation Club content? Maybe we’ll see another update when the game reaches its 15th anniversary, or perhaps the Anniversary Edition was the final update” pondered therealicekid.

Fans had their thoughts, one of which semi-sarcastically suggested the “Skyrim Double Anniversary Legendary Remastered Dovahkiin Edition,” which sounds hilarious but you can almost see it actually happening…

More serious responses read “Unlikely. They're too busy working on Starfield and TES6 to spend any significant amount of time on Skyrim. They might push some Creation Club updates at some point but I wouldn't expect anything more than that.”

In all honesty it’s probably for the best, as Skyrim’s story was finished a long time ago and while it still has plenty of players it’s clearly not on Bethesda’s radar anymore.

We’re moving onto bigger and brighter things, like The Elder Scrolls VI, Fallout 5, and probably a sequel to Starfield is the powers that be let it happen.
