Beloved Skyrim quest has one of the best 'alternate endings' we've ever seen

One of the best quests in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim can end very differently with one specific action, and it’s so much funnier like this.

I’m sure several ace quests just popped into your head as Skyrim is full of them, but the one we’re talking about today is the legendary assassination quest, To Kill An Empire.

There are other banging quests to choose from but this one is arguably one of the most memorable in the game

What if I told you though that there’s a different ending to this quest, one that doesn’t involve assassinating the emperor as Bethesda intended.

This was discovered and shared by Reddit user Significant-List-153, who revealed: “If you steal the clothes of the emperor before assassinating him he fights you.

I can’t lie the image of the emperor in his briefs wielding an enormous axe made me laugh, and now I want to replay this quest just to see if he puts up a good fight.

Folks in the comments of the post thought it was funny too, like one who said “Just loving the imagery of this old man emperor getting his clothes stolen off his own body after making a speech about accepting his fate and then gets pissed enough to materialise a giant fucking axe.”

Another comment I liked read “What do you mean? The Emperor is clearly wearing new clothes made from only the highest quality fabric! Only someone stupid and foolish would be unable to see them,” very clever.

If you’re looking to recreate this climactic battle for yourself it’s very easy to do, just steal the man’s clothes and he’ll start swinging.

Hell, I’d be mad too if someone tried to kill me and stole the clothes off my back at the same time.
