Skyrim huge 2025 'update' available now: ‘it’s like magic’

They're really dragon it out

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will never die, as one particularly massive new 2025 update proves.

When Skyrim launched way back in 2011, it became an instant hit. It is also, perhaps, the RPG with the longest shelf-life, thanks to a modding scene that is as thriving now as it was a decade ago - probably moreso, in fact.

There are literally thousands of mods out there that bring players new quests, items, NPCs, and even whole new regions to explore and stories to experience.

Personally, I’ve always admired the dedicated modders who polish the game visually. Because if we’re being honest, vanilla Skyrim doesn’t hold up brilliantly in 2025, graphically speaking.

Thanks to a new release, Skyrim will now look better than ever before, as the Frame Generation mod is available as a free download on Nexus Mods.

The main goal of this mod is to implement AMD FSR 3.1 Frame Generation and NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation and improve your framerate.

If you’re planning to give this a try, you’ll also need some community shaders installed, or else you’ll find it won’t work at all.

Once installed, you can enjoy greatly enhanced visuals. The new mod will improve your framerate and make the overall experience a lot smoother.

One user who installed the mod left a comment on the Nexus Mods, saying: “This is actual magic. Was struggling to maintain 60 at a certain spot in Whiterun, but I can keep an average 120 in that same place with this mod.”

However, others warn you shouldn’t bother installing if you aren’t getting a minimum of 60fps before installation.

If you ignore this warning, you could end up making the game’s stability worse. And lord knows Skyrim is unstable enough without any help.
