The Simpsons is one of the most popular and longest-running sitcoms of all time, gracing us with its presence since 1989.

31 seasons, 774 episodes and 35 years later, The Simpsons is remarkably still going strong today. Though we could argue that this never-ending TV sitcom is not as popular as it was in the 90s, but its run is incredibly impressive nonetheless.

To capitalise on the success of the TV series, over the years we’ve seen tons of merchandise, a movie and plenty of video games. One of its most popular video games is 2003’s The Simpsons: Hit & Run which was released on PC, PlayStation 2, Xbox and Nintendo GameCube.

It’s hard to believe that The Simpsons: Hit & Run, a game considered to be a family-friendly alternative to Grand Theft Auto III is over 20 years old and despite constant pleas from fans for a remake, there has been no sign of that happening anytime soon.

This is why talented indie developers and modders have taken matters into their own hands by creating their own The Simpsons: Hit & Run remasters, achieving a great deal of success by making legions of devoted fans very happy.

One such remaster brings multiplayer to The Simpsons: Hit & Run and it’s gone down like a smooth can of Duff beer with its fans.

The gameplay of The Simpsons: Hit & Run multiplayer mod has been shared on YouTube channels such as LiquidWIFI and more.

“Wow this is amazing, never thought someone would put the time and effort into making more vehicles, skins, and online multiplayer for this gem,” said PanTF in the comments section of the video.

“My childhood has been enhanced,” erattas claimed.

“Never thought I would see such a sight, but damn this is amazing,” exclaimed ninjardx.

“This is the best multiplayer video I ever saw! Never had such a laugh!” appleleptiker replied.

Sadly, at this time, unless you have a retro console, there is no official way of playing The Simpsons: Hit & Run.
