Retro gamers rejoice - you can bag yourself one of the best classic PlayStation exclusives from the PS3 era, all for free!
This deal comes from a surprising source. It won’t be on the PlayStation store for PS5 or PS4 users.
Instead, starting February 18, you’ll be able to get this free giveaway via Lenovo, no subscription needed. It’s not a limited time release either, meaning it’s yours to download and keep forever.
The only slight caveat is that you’ll need a PC to bag yourself this free PC game.

Bad news - because it’s from Lenovo, the Steam game codes will be offered out on a first-come, first-served deal. So mark your calendars for February 18! These codes always run out in a matter of hours, so make sure you get in there first.
One of the Highest Rated Games of Its Day
The game in question is an absolute classic, and if you’ve not played it, you’re missing out on a key part of gaming history. It’s Quantic Dream’s 2010 masterpiece Heavy Rain - a pioneer of narrative-driven, choice-based gameplay.
If you like Telltale’s The Walking Dead, or Detroit: Become Human (funnily enough, made by the same team!), you’ll love this one.
Heavy Rain focuses on four characters, where your actions impact the story. You’ll try to identify the "Origami Killer" against a soaked backdrop of film noir inspirations and mystery.
It was one of the highest rated games to come out in 2010, gaining a respectable 87 on Metacritic.
Heavy Rain came to PC in 2020 following its PS4 remaster in 2016. This PC version that Lenovo is giving away for free has all the flair of the PS4 remaster, with visual upgrades and performance.
You can still play the original PS3 disc or digital version, but only if you already own a copy. Personally, I love how the PS3 graphics add to that moody, atmospheric tone, but the PC version is just as good, in a different way.
It’s likely that this freebie won’t include the original PS3 version's DLC episode called "The Taxidermist", seeing as this DLC is not included in the PS4 remaster or the PC release.
How to Get the Lenovo PS3 Game for Free
When the countdown timer ends, the Key Drop event will begin. Starting at 12pm ET/5 pm GMT/BST on 18 February, you'll need to follow these steps to claim a key:
Log into (or create an account on) the Legion Gaming Community. You can do that here on the Event Page.
Connect and verify your Unlimited Steam Account to be eligible to claim.
On the release date, visit the above page and wait in the queue.
Once you're through the queue, you've only got 10 minutes to claim your free Lenovo Heavy Rain code.
Click "Claim" to unlock your key voucher! You may need to reload the page one time.
You can then redeem the Steam key through Lenovo's partner Gamesplanet. Make sure you are logged into Gamesplanet before redeeming your voucher.
