Focus Entertainment has dropped some fresh screenshots of its upcoming action-adventure game, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.
Despite A Plague Tale: Requiem teasing some kind of modern day-set sequel in its post-credits scene back in 2022, Asobo Studio’s The Last Of Us-like series has been confirmed to be doing a prequel spin-off next instead.
It’s been relatively quiet since that first teaser for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy was released last June, but it looks like we might be getting more juicy information in the coming weeks.
To kick things off a few weeks ahead of Summer Game Fest, Focus Entertainment has released three new screenshots of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, teasing some locations and images that we’ll see during gameplay.

The first of the new images shows Sophia and a companion disembarking from a ship and exploring a beach, which seems to have some kind of tomb or ancient ruin located on the side of a cliff.
The second image shows Sophia looking down from a cliffside onto the coast, which features an ancient circular stone pathway built directly into the water.
The final of the three new images show Sophia now approaching a crumbling stone gateway built into the cliffside. Given context clues, it’s very likely that each of these images are taken from the same level or location in the full game.
“In Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, follow in your crew’s footsteps to explore a richly detailed world and unravel its secrets. Who knows what beautiful places you will discover?” reads the caption provided by Focus Entertainment.
This follows three screenshots which were released in April, with one showing Sophia riding a canoe through a canal, another of her climbing up a castle wall, and a third which showed her standing in an empty town street.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is supposedly coming out in 2026, though news regarding a release date has been pretty quiet since its reveal last year that I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being pushed to 2027.
It’s possible we’ll hear more at Summer Game Fest in a few weeks, which is where the game was originally announced last year.
The blurb on Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy reads: “Set 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem, play as Sophia, a fierce young plunderer, on the run but determined to uncover the secrets of her past. Dive into an original story blending combat, myth and fate with a brand new take in the universe of A Plague Tale.
“Sophia’s journey leads to the Minotaur' Island, where she faces deadly trials, navigates treacherous trails, solves puzzles, all while fighting and staying one step ahead of the army chasing her. But the true challenge awaits, as the terrifying creature hidden behind the myth will soon resonate with her…”
