Resident Evil remake teaser has fans losing their mind

Nudge nudge, wink wink

Resident Evil fans are losing their minds following an apparent tease of what remake could be next in the series.

It’s been a couple of years since we were treated to an entry in Capcom’s ever-popular survival horror series, the last being the 2023 Resident Evil 4 remake.

We know that Resident Evil 9 (currently not its official name) is on the way but we could also be getting one or two more remakes, if rumours are believed.

Check out the Resident Evil 3 trailer below!

Depending on what you choose to believe we could be getting a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica and/or Resident Evil 5. Even a remake of Resident Evil 0 has been mentioned.

Of course, we should always take unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise but that’s not to say that rumours can’t get us somewhat hyped.

When a fan met current Jill Valentine actor Nicole Tompkins, star of the 2020 Resident Evil 3 remake at a convention, when asked if she would reprise the role in another remake of the original game, she reportedly winked in response.

This wink could mean absolutely nothing and maybe Nicole Tompkins was simply teasing the fan for fun but it’s not outside the realm of possibility that it could mean more.

Understandably, fans are hyped that Resident Evil could be getting another remake, despite already having an amazing remake for the Nintendo GameCube in 2002. Saying that it has been over 22 years since that release.

“Whether it's in development now or later, it's definitely happening,” claimed Always_A_Dreamer556.

“The 30th anniversary is next year. A remake of the first game in the style of recent REmakes makes sense,” said ResponsibleTrain1059, referring to the original game that was released in 1996.

“I recently finished the OG remake. I absolutely love the level design. A remake with improved combat, voice acting, a canon ending and an expanded and improved Spencer Mansion sounds like a dream,” replied gkgftzb.

“They will do everything except Code: Veronica,” exclaimed umutmcan.

We’ll keep you posted if we hear of any further developments regarding a Resident Evil remake as well as the progress of Resident Evil 9.
