In a bizarre turn of events, Arthur Morgan is set to be our next history teacher courtesy of this upcoming release and I, for one, am kind of here for it.

Back in 2021, it was reported that a history professor in America was recruiting the help of Red Dead Redemption 2 to help in his college curriculum. For the professor, Tore Olsson, it was his way to combine his love of history and video games in his teaching.

He admitted that although the narrative in historical video games is “often historically inaccurate”, it still paves the way for a conversation about colonialism, racism and other important topics.

With the class being the first of its kind, it soon made headlines all over the world and now three years on, Olsson has taken to r/reddeadredemption to share an update.

“Hey redditors – so I’m the American history professor who has been teaching the world’s first-ever college class on the Red Dead Redemption games. I’ve now written a book based on that class, called Red Dead’s History, aimed at fans of the game”, he wrote.

Even though that is already exciting in itself, Olsson still had one more exciting announcement to make.

“But today I have some big news. Like, massive,” he added. “THE AUDIOBOOK VERSION OF RED DEAD’S HISTORY WILL BE NARRATED BY ROGER CLARK (ARTHUR MORGAN in RDRII).”

So there you have it, readers who pick up this upcoming release will get to hear none other than Arthur Morgan himself narrate it. Suddenly I am very interested in American history.

However, one comment soon ruined the party atmosphere when they suggested a depressing idea for the audiobook.

“Here's a depressing idea: Roger starts to cough during the first parts of the book and it gradually gets worse until the last few chapters where he acts like he has late stage Tuberculosis,” they wrote.

Mimicking Arthur’s own tuberculosis diagnosis, this would be a heart-wrenching accompaniment but of course, this is merely a fan suggestion.
