'Red Dead Online' Players Believe Rockstar "Don't Care" Following Latest Update

"The community deserves so much better."

Tensions are rising amongst Red Dead Online players as the perceived lack of frequent updates for the popular rootening and shootening simulator from Rockstar Games has suggested that the studio isn't that interested in supporting the vibrant title and its equally enthusiastic community.

I'm sure this isn't the first time you've read about Red Dead Online players airing their issues with the stagnation of the game in comparison to the oodles and oodles of content that Grand Theft Auto Online is given. Remember when the community dressed like clowns, saying "since we're all clowns for believing we'll get an update, it's fitting that we dress up as them"? Scathing. Appreciably, Rockstar Games has its hands full with the next-gen versions of Grand Theft Auto V and the development of the sixth game in the series, though these responsibilities haven't stopped it from supporting Grand Theft Auto Online with a lot of fancy free content.

This latest upset arose out of the studio's announcement that the first month of this year will see a refreshing of older, existing content in Red Dead Online rather than an update that's hot off the presses. Expectedly, that hasn't been received well by the players. "#SaveRedDeadOnline" sat at the top of the trending topics on Twitter as a result of fans' complaints that this move seems to suggest that Rockstar Games isn't too invested in the support of this live title. "The fact we’ve been trending for over 72 hours is proof the Red Dead Online community deserves so much better. We’re not asking for miracles here… just let us know what you intend to do in the future please," said @RDOHub.

Whether or not this trend will be enough to warrant a proper response from the studio remains to be seen, but it's difficult to deny that Red Dead Online looks to be sidelined while Rockstar Games favours its golden goose. Having said that, an industry insider advised Grand Theft Auto players that they should temper their expectations of the upcoming sixth game, though its graphics might blow you away.
