The ongoing debate surrounding a potential Red Dead Redemption 3 continues and fans are left with more questions than answers.
Will John Marston return? Will it be a prequel or sequel? Who will be our new protagonist? Will there even be a Red Dead Redemption 3 at all?
These are all questions that Rockstar Games is yet to answer but that has not stopped fans from speculating over the years.
It is perhaps no surprise that the debate continues considering that both Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2 are considered some of the best video games of all time.

As a result, fans are eager for more and with Grand Theft Auto VI set to be wrapped up by this time next year (hopefully), could Red Dead Redemption 3 be Rockstar’s next major project?
If so, how could the next entry in the beloved series already improve on perfection?
Well, it was a potential Red Dead Redemption 3 that was the subject of yet another discussion over on r/RDR2 with one fan asking, “What would you like to see in [the game]?”
“With the co-founder of Rockstar Games saying RDR3 is "likely to happen", but also saying that it was a two-game arc, what would you like to see in the game?” They continued.
“I mostly hear about continuing Jack's story or following a young Dutch creating the gang and meeting Arthur.
“Would like to hear other theories.”
With almost 400 comments accumulated since the post was created, it is safe to say that fans have a strong opinion so let us take a look at some of the most popular.

Fans Are Uniting... For Once
“Nothing from Redemption, it’s perfectly finished.
Time for a new story arc in the Red Dead timeline,” the top comment reads.
Another agreed, adding, “Yeah, about the only thing they can do with the current storyline is go backwards with the rise of Dutch as a young man.
Going forward with Jack Marston takes the story into the automobile age and without the horses/western theme it just becomes GTA/Mafia.
Either a whole new unrelated story or R* has to flesh out stories of Mexico, Landon Ricketts, etc.
I think they have just as big a risk of ruining the Red Dead legacy as they do making a cohesive RD3 story.”
In my opinion, I happen to agree and feel that both Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2 form the perfect story with a complete, albeit heartbreaking, ending.
However, there is no denying that Rockstar shines when focusing on narrative and well-written characters such as John and Arthur and so it would be a shame to see this world come to an end completely.
What happens next is anybody’s guess but let us hope for a bright future.
