It would seem that Sadie Adler has some competition, as a new mod for Red Dead Redemption II is reimaging one of its female side characters as a gun-toting outlaw that’s ready to take her quest for women’s rights into her own hands…
Well, it might be more accurate to say she’s taking women’s rights and lefts into account, based on the images of her dual-wielding two sawn-off shotguns.
If you’ve completed Red Dead Redemption II’s story, you’ll likely remember Penelope Braithwaite from a series of missions titled “The Course of True Love” that kicks off during the game’s third chapter.
Penelope is a staunch supporter of the women’s suffragists' movement, which causes the love of her life, Beau Gray, to ask for Arthur’s help in convincing her not to take part in a march that he believes will endanger her life.

As the series of missions comes to a close, Arthur assists Penelope and Beau in escaping to Boston and even hands Penelope a gun so that she can protect them both on their travels.
Rockstar Games clearly locked in when it came to writing her story, which is why I always considered Penelope to be kind of badass. She knows that what she’s doing is dangerous, but she soldiers on regardless of the harm it may cause her, because she believes the suffragists’ movement is important.
Well, uh… clearly it wasn’t badass enough for mod author Ruxyne, because they’ve added an addendum onto Penelope’s story in which she becomes a “disciplined gunslinger” in the mod Elite Companion - Penelope Braithwaite.

The mod is pretty simple in its execution, because it allows you to call Penelope for aid at any point you choose (at which point she will start shooting anyone hostile in the immediate vicinity).
Gotta say, some of the comments on this one are cracking me up, because it sounds like Penelope really took Arthur’s words to heart at the end of her story in the game.
“WTF! She’s the f*#@ing Terminator! I was testing her in a town while she was killing people!” commented Nexus user harozudu.
“I’m really enjoying your mod. Thank you for creating something so fun… ummm...and so on… She’s way too strong. I feel like she could conquer the entire West all by herself. LOL”, replied user archme2.

Now we just need a mod that lets us summon Mary Beth as a companion too, and we can slowly start building towards an all-women posse of no-nonsense gunslingers.
I suppose we’d need a mod to replace Arthur with Sadie while we’re at it too, although I get the feeling that might be where things are headed in Red Dead Redemption III anyway…
