Red Dead Redemption 2 players warned they've 48 hours to claim free download

Claim now before it’s too late

If you want to claim free DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2, you better act fast to avoid missing out because you’ve got less than 48 hours to claim.

Despite having less substantial content than Rockstar Games’ GTA Online cash cow, there’s still plenty of fun to be had in Red Dead Online, a free multiplayer game that came bundled with the critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption 2 but it is also available as a standalone purchase.

Check out the Red Dead Online trailer below!

“Step into the vibrant, ever-evolving world of Red Dead Online and experience life in frontier America. Chase down bounties, battle outlaw gangs and other players, hunt, fish and trade, search for exotic treasures, run Moonshine, and much more to discover in a world of astounding depth and detail,” reads the description of the game.

While not benefiting from expansion-sized content updates, as we regularly see with GTA Online, Red Dead Online still has free events which reward players with DLC for simply playing the game. Heck, you’ll even get free content just by logging in.

The most recent Red Dead Online event is ‘Bounty Hunter Bonuses’ which not only offers free DLC but also XP and RDO$ boosts, and by participating in Bounty Hunter Daily Challenges, you will be rewarded with exclusive content.

However, being over a week into the ‘Bounty Hunter Bonuses’ event, some of the free content has come and gone. Thankfully at least, there are still two more events not to be missed out on.

By capturing at least three bounties this week between 10 September to 16 September, you will be gifted with three Gravesend Bolas. Furthermore, the following week between 24 September to 30 September, you can receive a brown Boutell Hat (sadly, not in real life) by completing the same objective.

Once you collect your bounties during the specific dates, Rockstar Games has promised that rewards will be coming your way within 72 hours of completion.

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online are out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
