Pokimane Is Being Taken To Court By A Well-Known YouTuber

Here we go again

YouTuber Jeremy ‘TheQuartering’ Hambly has claimed he's taking popular Twitch streamer Imane 'Pokimane' Anys to court over takedown requests her legal team has allegedly made on a number of videos in which he shows her content.

Anys was just recently threatened with legal action by none other than Tyler 'Ninja' Blevins, after the two had a very public spat in regards to a recent "hate raid" that Anys was the victim of.

While that particular drama seems to have settled down, it would appear there's yet more turmoil in store for the streamer. As reported by Dexerto, Hambly announced on Twitter just a few days ago that he intends to take Anys to court in order to defend himself.

Hambly explains that he received an email from Anys' brand management team, Corsearch, in which her reps asked him to remove two of his videos over “Infringing Content” and “Copyrighted Content.” It's believed that they want these videos pulled because Hambly uses content owned by Anys in them.

However, Hambly claims his use of Anys' clips fall under Fair Use. He pointed out that this content warning didn't even come via YouTube, and accused Corsearch of "bullying" content creators.

“Essentially, anything that makes a creator look bad they’ll bully and bend the law, in my opinion, to get people to remove that content,” he said. “That’s really what they’re doing.

“They’re going around, and they’re going to get her in trouble legally. These videos from years ago — you’re bringing them back up to the surface now. Why? This is a pretty big oopsie, and I highly recommend she call off her dogs because what they’re doing is obviously not above board.”

Anys has yet to publicly respond to the situation, but it's unlikely that this particular dispute will reach a court. Back in 2019, the streamer was called out by PewDiePie for trying to claim strikes against videos uploaded by Bowblax in late 2018.
