Everyone has their favourite Pokémon. The ‘mons you always want on your team, or perhaps the ones that have a particularly awesome shiny variant.
We all have our favourites but I’m sure there’s a long list of Pokémon that you’d see in the wild and think “no thank you…” before brutally knocking them out to empower your starter ‘mon.
Well if you’ve ever wondered which ‘mon are deemed the worst of the worst look no further than online polls, like this one by Reddit user EcceziunALE…
This Pokémon fan set out to learn the least popular ‘mon of each game generation as well as the overall worst rated character in the franchise.

Standout votes include Lickylicky, Mr Mime, Igglybuff, Wormadam and even starter ‘mon like Sobble.
The worst rated ‘mon on the list though was Jynx, for pretty obvious reasons. If you weren’t aware, Jynx is highly controversial due to its design. The modern design for Jynx has somewhat improved things but the OG design was slated as being blatantly racist.
Considering that, it’s no wonder why Jynx doesn’t find its way onto many teams and is one of the worst rated ‘mon in the franchise.
With Pokémon Z-A on the way perhaps a new Pokémon design will be introduced that takes the bottom spot, though at the time of writing The Pokémon Company has made no mention of new ‘mon for Z-A, nor new Mega Evolutions.
That’s quite concerning as the game is due out later this year, but there’s still time for an overview trailer to put our minds at ease.
At the very least we can expect some regional variants, especially as evolutions for the starters, which brought their own bit of controversy…
