Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is the hottest free mobile game right now with wannabe trainers opening packs in a frenzy hoping to claim the most shiny rare digital cards.

Of course, nothing beats opening Pokémon packs in real life in the hope of obtaining a rare card worth a lot of money, but in terms of digital content, Pokémon TCG Pocket is a good alternative.

Check out the Pokémon TCG Pocket trailer below!

Being a free-to-play mobile game on Android and iOS, it is possible to play this game without spending a penny. However, on the flip side, being a free-to-play title, there are all sorts of temptations to spend real-world money potentially increasing the chances of obtaining a rare card.

The amount of free packs that you can open is time-restricted and some are restricted to currency that you can earn in-game, albeit only a small amount with it being free-to-play.

If you spend real money on in-game currency, you’ll be opening new packs for as much as your pockets will allow. For the most part, if a free-to-play game is well-made and fun, I have no problem dropping a few coins once in a while, such as Marvel Snap.

Yet, if I can find a way to obtain free credit to buy in-game currency, then I am, of course, all ears. One such way is Play Points, the Google Play store’s reward system which gives you points for spending money on mobile games.

As brought to our attention by Droid-Life.com, Google Play is running a “Boost” promotion for Pokémon TCG Pocket which rewards you with 7 Play Points for every £1 you spend instead of the standard 1 Point per £1. This promotion lasts for seven days once activated.

But there are more ways to earn bonus points. You can also earn free Play Points by simply remembering to check in to claim its ‘Weekly Prize’ and the amount that you’ll randomly win will depend on whether you’re a Silver, Gold, Platinum or Diamond tier.

Put it this way, I’ve only spent a few quid this year on the Google Play store and even I’m finding it easy to claim free coupons which can spent on the likes of Pokémon TCG Pocket or Pokémon GO

For example, 100 Points are worth a £1 coupon, 200 Points is worth £2, 500 Points is worth £5 and finally, 1000 Points is worth £10. However, if you redeem those points for a Pokémon TCG Pocket coupon, you’ll get more bang for your buck.

If you choose to buy Pokémon TCG Pocket coupons, 100 Points are now worth £2, 400 Points are £8 and 750 Points are worth a meaty £15.

So, what are you waiting for, go claim those free Google Play reward points and spend some money!
